Gum disease is an inflammatory disease mostly caused by bacterial plaque and tartar on the teeth. Among the symptoms of gum disease, we can mention redness of the gums, swelling, bad breath, bleeding in the gums, displacement of the teeth and gum recession. Among these, the most common symptom is bleeding gums. While only the gums are affected in the initial stages of gum diseases; In the middle and advanced stages, the jawbone is also affected along with the gums.
The treatment of gum diseases is carried out by removing the main factor tartar and plaque from the tooth and root surface. Initially, the gingiva, which is red, bleeding and swollen, turns into a healthy old pink color in a very short time after the inflammatory tissues are removed.
For all gum diseases, tartar cleaning and optimum oral hygiene are the first steps of treatment. Depending on the progression of the disease, a solution is provided with the gradual laser treatment techniques. Advanced mobility in the teeth and some other symptoms may require extraction.
If the disease has only affected the gums, dental calculus cleaning and good oral hygiene may be sufficient. Tartar cleaning is the process of removing tartar, plaque and stains accumulated on the tooth surface with the help of special tools and should be done regularly even in healthy individuals.
In cases where the disease is more advanced, a curettage procedure that requires deep cleaning under the gums may be required. While the root surface is cleaned by entering into the pocket during tartar cleaning, the gingival tissue of the same pocket is cleaned during the curettage process. This procedure can be performed with conventional methods using hand tools or with Er: YAG lasers in clinics with advanced technology and knowledge.
With the laser, gum tissue can be cleaned more comfortably and effectively.
If there is an advanced bone loss in the advanced stages of gum disease, different laser treatment techniques can be used according to the type of melting, and treatment can be performed without the need for surgical procedures.
TOOTH MOBILTY
If a tooth decays, we can only say that that tooth carries a risk. However, since gum disease is a problem that usually affects all teeth, it puts all our teeth at risk. For this reason, the detection and treatment of gum diseases is very important for the continuity of oral health.
If mobility is seen in all teeth, it is very likely caused by clenching in combination with gingivitis.
This situation is frequently encountered in the society and when treated in the early stages is likely to have a high success rate.
If the swaying of the tooth is limited to a few teeth, this is sometimes caused by locally advanced gum disease, sometimes by factors that cause advanced bone loss around the tooth due to inflammation around the root tip mostly due to tooth decay around the root of the teeth and similar reasons.
Inflamed tissues that cause tooth mobility due to gum disease are removed and treated with laser-assisted periodontal treatments.
